To all my students I am Mrs. Johnston or Mrs. J, but my name is Debbie Johnston. This is my 5th year of teaching. I was a 6th grade teacher for 2 years and will be starting my 3rd year of Kindergarten. I have had several occupations over the years: hair dresser, realtor and business owner and now teacher, which has been my favorite job. I have been married for 32 years to my wonderful husband, Dan Johnston. He himself is an educator and currently is the Superintendent/K-6 Principal in Shields Valley, MT. Together we have 4 adult children: Tyler (30), Aaron (27), Colton (26) and Tori (23). My oldest son is married to a Darby girl and they have a son Eoin, who is 5. We definitely are a college family. My husband completed his doctorate degree and our son Aaron is getting his doctorate in Pharmacy. As a mom I am proud to say that all my children are college graduates. I myself went to MSU (Go Cats!) and finished up my degree at Western Governor's University.
I was born and raised in Helena, MT and as they say, that makes me a Native Montanan. My husband and I have lived in St.Ignatius, MT. and Kirtland, NM. We have lived in Darby for over 20 years and our 4 children are Darby High School graduates. I love going camping, fishing, hiking and 4 wheeling around our beautiful state. When I am not out playing, then I am home gardening, enjoying crafts or spending time with my family.
