Thank you to all the family that supported our many activities last week. The Veteran’s Day Assembly had a very good crowd, and was well done by our students. Parent Teacher Conferences were also well attended. The academic and citizenship awards assembly was so well attended; we didn’t have room in the bleachers for all the students. A couple of classes had to sit on the floor. What a great problem to have!!! Each quarter we will be having awards assemblies, so you can start looking forward to one in January.
The Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program is going great. Each day, all students in grades K-6 are given an opportunity to eat a healthy snack consisting of a fresh fruit or veggie. Many students are trying new items as part of this program that was funded by a federal grant.
Our school will once again be collecting and submitting Box Tops. Jessica Runyon, a parent volunteer, will be overseeing the collection this year. There will be collection boxes in each classroom soon, so your children can turn them in to the school.
We want to welcome Katrina Matumeak to our staff. Katrina was recently hired to serve as a classroom aide in Mr. May’s 5th Grade, and as a special education paraprofessional.
Our school is celebrating Red Ribbon Week this week. The junior high students will be hosting a healthy choices assembly for all K-6 students on Wednesday morning.
