Darby High School Daily Announcements

Lunch Today: Chicken and Rice Casserole, Salad Bar and Milk

Notices & Reminders:

  • As we continue to explore social media, remember the acronym THINK before you post anything.  Is it True?  Is it Helpful?  Is it Inspiring?  Is it Necessary?  Is it Kind?   If it isn’t, don’t post it.  And maybe you should question your motives behind wanting to post it...

  • Quote of the day from a Darby student in response to the teach-to video:  “Phones are tools, not a life style.  They are meant to connect people.  Other features are meant to help you in your every day life, not be your life.”

  • Jan. 30th MAPS in Hamilton, will be conducting a class on developing portfolios designed to help students (high school as well as college) obtain funding for college.  This workshop is not about a single scholarship but about a process of looking at the future and actively engaging in obtaining goals - career/college ready. Contact:  Wendi Fawns, Education Coordinator (381-2334) for more information.

  • SENIORS Annual staff will be pulling students for Best of the Best Photo’s on Monday during 7th Period. If you are going to be gone please make arrangements with Mrs. Burdette or an Annual staff member to get your photo taken.

  • Please check your house for Mrs. Ehmann’s PE clothes you may have borrowed over the course of the year.  Return any you find as soon as possible.  Thanks!

  • This week in Life Skills the students are learning the art of laundry. The students will be laundering all the lost and found in the Darby High school and placing them outside room 153, just behind the concessions. So, please have your students come pick up their belongings.

  • Seniors, the $1000 clerk and recorder's scholarship just became available.  Stop by Mr. Kohn's office if you want the application.  Deadline is March 15th.

  • National Honor Society Meeting will be every other Monday during lunch in Mr. Olson's Room, Please bring your lunch.

  • Want to learn how to fly?  For free?  Opportunity is knocking Darby High.  One lucky student will get a free flying lesson.  Get an application from the big board outside Mr. D’s office.

  • Mr. Fiedler's Intro to tech class is looking for vehicles to do an oil change unit on.  Any interested faculty member or student just needs to purchase the oil and filter, or supply money ahead of time so that we can pick up the necessary supplies.  Labor is free.  If you have any questions please e-mail Mr. Fiedler or call extension 1421.
