New Employee Spotlight! Welcome to the team Leandra!

Darby High School is proud to have had 13 students enroll in Physics this year! The class was outside today to collect data for their free fall motions inquiry. The students got a chance to use their phones during school with this lab, employing their slow-motion cameras to track the amount of time it took for a ball to fall between each meter increment from 0-7 meters. Students will use this data to calculate the average velocity for each meter increment and the average acceleration between meters 0-3, 3-7, and 0-7. Next, students will use their kinematic equations, derived for time, to backwards-analyze our data to detect measurement error. Lastly, students will create position vs. time, velocity vs. time, and acceleration vs. time graphs. Please give our Physics students a high five the next time you see them for choosing to tackle this challenging subject!

FYI, October 2nd will be school picture day for the students and staff of the Darby School District.

New Employee Spotlight! Welcome to the team, Mrs. Rhodes!

The kids had a great time learning about the Montana Gold Rush and the effect it had on the indigenous tribes of Montana! Most were convinced that Bannack is certainly haunted and that the ghost of the Mead Hotel, Dorothy, may have ridden the bus home with us...
